Summary

At the March 11, 2018 meeting, Linda Foster shared with us an amazing collection of letters written by her father's cousin, Robert C. Lash of Belmont County Ohio, to his aunt during World War II, 1942-1945. Through these letters we learned a first hand account of a soldier's life in the army and what was happening in the world at the time. Included were pictures, maps and other images from from his service as a combat engineer in the Pacific theatre of the war. Participants brought their own personal WW II family items, pictures and stories to share.
